Reiki for Relief, Stress Reduction and Relaxation.
Reiki is a form of energy work in which healing is performed when the practitioner lightly touches the body or the hands are a few inches above the body, allowing the flow of the energy from a limitless source to the patient via the Reiki practitioner. It is extremely powerful, yet gentle energy that the trained practitioner can easily channel to others, just by intention.
Reiki health benefits include stress reduction and relaxation which triggers the bodies natural healing abilities, and improves and maintains health. Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and well being to the recipient.
This non-invasive healing system works with the higher self of the receiver to promote health and well being of the entire physical and emotional body. This technique promotes wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit.
What to Expect
During a Reiki Session
The client, fully clothed, lies on the treatment table. The practitioner's hands remain in a stationary position, gently on or slightly above the body through several positions from head to toe. Private areas are worked on 4-6” above the body with no manipulation of the skin or tissue, Reiki is not massage.
Many individuals report feeling cold, pulsating heat, or a tingling sensation during a session, and most enter a calm, relaxed state. In some, chronic or acute pain can diminish or completely vanish. Sometimes allergies and other infirmities completely disappear. It's different for each person.
What to Expect
After a Reiki Session
Directly after a Reiki session, you should allow yourself time to come fully back into your awareness. You may feel so relaxed that it may take a little extra time to regain balance in your physical body. It is suggested to sit for several minutes and sip a cool glass of purified water.
Over the next several days, you may notice that you are detoxifying the waste that has built up in your system. It is generally recommended that you increase your water and/or herbal tea intake so that the toxins are flushed out more readily. You may want to rest more, so allow time for that. Most people feel an immediate improvement in their level of pain. Energy and alertness increase daily and a feeling of overall well being may be noticed.
How Many Reiki
Sessions You May Need
To begin with, three or four sessions over ten to fourteen days are recommended to remove blocks in your energy system, though this is addressed individually. It is never recommended that you stop seeing your doctor as Reiki is complimentary to Western Medicine. You should begin to notice some improvement after the first session. Disease generally begins in the energy field so if we keep our subtle bodies healthy using Reiki, and our physical bodies healthy with good nutrition and exercise, we should be able to remain active and whole.
